The AI Era Plan is here, bringing smarter, faster, and more intuitive tools to public safety. With it, agencies gain access to AI-powered solutions that evolve alongside them, equipping officers with technology that lets them focus on what matters most. At the heart of the AI Era Plan is our commitment to responsible innovation, delivering technology that doesn’t just keep up, but drives public safety forward into the future.
Draft One, now a flagship solution in the AI Era Plan, has already transformed report writing by cutting hours of paperwork while keeping human oversight at the core. But that was just the beginning. Based on direct feedback from officers, Draft One is now even more effective with new enhancements that make report writing faster, easier, and higher-quality.
Check out what’s new with Draft One:
Every agency has different standards for report writing, and officers need flexibility to create reports that align with their needs. With these updates, Draft One provides more options to shape each draft, giving officers greater control over report content and level of detail, based on agency report formats.
Capturing details in the moment is critical for a complete report, but additional context is often needed after an incident, such as for including relevant details outside the camera's field of view. With post-incident narration, officers can quickly speak their thoughts directly in the browser before generating a draft. There’s no need to dictate word-for-word, officers can simply speak through what happened in their own words. The narration is transcribed and used alongside other transcripts from the incident during draft generation. Officers can also narrate information for incidents without body-worn camera video, offering a new, fast and flexible way to write reports.
Different situations call for different levels of detail. Now, officers can adjust draft length to align with the type of report they are writing. Whether summarizing a routine call or documenting a complex interview, this feature helps generate reports that are both concise and comprehensive to reduce the need for manual adjustments. If the transcripts from the selected evidence items are brief, Draft One will suggest the most appropriate draft length option. And if a draft doesn’t contain enough detail, officers can simply select a longer option to generate a more detailed version to give them even more control over the first draft of their report.
Accurate, comprehensive reports depend on capturing every relevant detail, whether that means combining multiple perspectives, processing multi-lingual conversations, or cross-checking evidence more efficiently. These updates make it easier to document incidents with clarity and completeness.
Many public safety interactions include a mix of English and Spanish, and capturing those conversations accurately is essential. Following positive results from agency trials over the past several months, Draft One now supports reports with mixed-language audio inputs of Spanish and English to help ensure that details spoken in both languages are properly included in the report output in English. This update reduces the risk of missing information and helps officers get a complete and accurate record of an interaction without the need for manual translation.
Cross-referencing digital evidence while reviewing a draft is now seamless. Officers can view transcripts and media playback side by side, making it easier to verify details, confirm accuracy, and refine reports without switching between screens. This feature improves efficiency and precision, allowing officers to quickly check key moments and make any necessary adjustments in one place.
Incidents often involve multiple responding officers, each with their own body-worn camera footage. Instead of piecing together separate reports, officers can now generate a single draft from multiple videos to combine key details into one cohesive narrative. This update, controlled through agency permissions, improves collaborative report writing by reducing redundant documentation and helps ensure a more complete account of an incident.
To help officers select the right footage, Draft One now allows video previewing during the evidence selection process. On the evidence selection page, officers can watch or listen to the digital evidence file before generating a draft, helping ensure the right videos are used from the start.
Every agency has unique policies, formatting requirements, and reporting preferences. The following updates help automate formatting and structure so that reports are more consistent, easier to review, and require fewer manual edits.
Many agencies require reports to be written in third-person format rather than first-person. Now, agencies can enable Draft One to generate reports in third-person, helping officers produce documentation that aligns with agency preferences from the start. This reduces the need for officers to manually rewrite narratives, saving time and maintaining uniformity across reports.
Maintaining proper formatting is now easier than ever. Draft One automatically inserts officer ranks based on agency settings to help ensure that every report reflects the correct titles without requiring manual adjustments. Whether your agency uses “Deputy,” “Officer,” or another rank designation, Draft One adapts to match your system for greater consistency and accuracy.
Draft One will continue to evolve, bringing new capabilities that make report writing faster, more accurate, and more intuitive. As with all solutions in the AI Era Plan, agencies can expect ongoing enhancements that deliver increasing value to their workflows and support them long into the future by adapting to evolving needs.
In addition to supporting law enforcement partners, we have also expanded access to AI-powered report writing across more sectors, including federal agencies. With FedRAMP authorization, Draft One is now available in a secure, government-approved environment.
As agencies embrace AI-powered tools, Draft One will continue to evolve to help officers spend less time on paperwork and more time where it matters most, while maintaining the transparency and human oversight that define our approach to responsible AI innovation.
