Axon has funded a new community engagement van that will expand knife crime prevention and youth education efforts across Britain.
Axon has partnered with FazAmnesty since 2024, supplying personnel with body-worn cameras to help keep them safe while touring high-risk areas and engaging directly with the public.
Since its founding in 2019, FazAmnesty has become an important part of the UK’s response to serious violence, collecting more than 10,000 weapons from UK streets.
London, 24 Nov — Axon, the global public safety technology leader, has partnered with FazAmnesty, a leading community organisation tackling knife crime across the UK, to fund a new community engagement van that will expand knife crime prevention and youth education efforts across Britain.
The Axon-funded van will operate alongside FazAmnesty’s national weapons-surrender initiative, providing a safe, anonymous, and non-judgmental environment for individuals to hand in knives and other offensive weapons, with no questions asked.
It will also visit schools, youth organisations, and community events across the UK to deliver targeted educational programmes on knife crime prevention and conflict resolution, engaging directly with local youth and raising awareness of the dangers associated with knife crime.
Launched as part of Operation Sceptre, a national campaign led by police forces to reduce knife crime through education and community engagement, the van is now touring the UK – taking part in joint patrols with local authorities in Nottingham, Luton, and Croydon last week.
Axon has partnered with FazAmnesty since 2024, supplying charity personnel with body-worn cameras to help keep them safe while touring high-risk areas and engaging directly with the public. The cameras enable FazAmnesty team members to share footage with police forces if required, strengthening both safety and the effectiveness of community outreach.
The new community engagement van will join FazAmnesty's current weapons-surrender van, deployed as part of the Home Office-backed national weapons-surrender scheme. This will expand the organisation's reach across the UK, providing additional spaces for individuals to safely, securely, and anonymously hand in knives and offensive weapons without entering a police station or giving personal details.
Since its founding in 2019, FazAmnesty has become an important part of the UK’s response to serious violence. The charity has:
Collected more than 10,000 weapons from UK streets;
Offered its Prevention in Danger education programme in 61 schools;
Engaged over 20,000 young people through school sessions and community outreach;
Supported 120 young people aged 18–25 into accredited SIA security training, helping them access stable employment; and
Completed 250 joint patrols with police forces and local authorities.
The partnership forms part of Axon’s ongoing support for knife crime prevention efforts in the UK, sponsoring charities and community groups including the Ben Kinsella Trust and FazAmnesty.
Alex Lowe, UK & Ireland Regional Director at Axon, said: “This partnership is about backing action with impact. FazAmnesty’s work is saving lives and transforming communities, and we’re proud to partner with them to help take their valuable work even further. Together, we’re building a model of prevention that connects frontline experience with the tools, partnerships, and visibility needed to drive real change.”
Faron Paul, founder of FazAmnesty, said: “I started FazAmnesty because I have seen firsthand the devastating effect knife crime has on families and communities right across the UK. This new van will help me and my team reach more young people to educate them on making the right choices.
“With Axon’s support, we can get out to more places and stay on the streets for longer, meeting people where they are. Anyone can come to us, hand in a weapon or ask for help. No judgement. No pressure. It works because people trust us, and trust is key to making a difference.”
